Warning! If you are easily tired, beware of massive activity!!

First of all, thank you to my wonderful husband, who lets me see the world from First Class - ahhhhh.
Nextly, thank you to my wonderful daughters, sons-in-law and grandsons - who let me hug, snuggle, tickle, talk, & walk with them - for many terrific memories.
My trip to Dover from Wednesday, 3-31 to 4-4-10 became the trip from Sunday, 3-28 to 4-4-10 when we all found out that Brian was NOT going to be serving in Kabul, but at Camp Tombstone in the Helmand province. It was a stressful few days before we finally heard from him, so I was glad to be there to support Katharine, McColley & Brady while they waited.
Of course, we don't sit around and wait...we GOGOGOGO & wait! First step was driving home in the pouring rain late at night. The next day, we had a task to do! We needed to learn "How to Train Your Dragon" in 3D. McColley & Brady drove themselves to the theater.
The following day included lunch at Chuck E. Cheese + all the fun activities that can be found there!
Since it was raining and blowing outside, an indoor activity sounded great! Let's go bowling! Check out the scores...rather humiliating, if one is an adult...
The next morning, we drove to Rockwood Mansion, a Victorian house museum. We had a private tour that was very interesting.
McColley was quite insistent that we drive to Philadelphia to play in the Please Touch Museum - cool!
In order to honor Tim & Arianna's Japanese experiences, we made reservations at Buddakan restaurant. I asked if it was suitable for young children. "Yes," she said. Hmmmm. Well, yes & no. It was quite upscale and stark, sort of young professionals-style. BUT, the service was the fastest we've ever seen - ever! So, I guess she was correct. Anyway, it was really neat. Afterwards, I locked the boys up (not really).
On Thursday, Katharine got to go to work and Grandma was left to sit the babes. Poor Brady! Grandma really needs some practice in keeping a 15 month old from hitting his head on walls and not slamming his fingers in the dishwasher...oops. We started at Play Group and then went to one of the thousands of parks in their neighborhood. It is truly astonishing how many there are.
As you can see, the weather was fabulous, so when Mommy came home, we got in the car and drove out to Rehoboth Beach. After building some sand castles, we found a place to get paella - yum!
On Friday, we drove to Annapolis, not realizing that every other human being on the east coast was going there, too! Good Friday was a state holiday right before spring break, so it was jammed! A nice parking lot attendant let us park on credit, until we could find a cash machine. We decided to take a Colonial Walking tour. The nice guide let us start the walk on credit, until we could find one of those boxes that dispenses coin. The tour went through much of the historical part of town and ended at the Naval Academy. What an interesting place! We had to go through security to get into the Capitol building, because we needed to use the elevator for the stroller. McColley is standing on the very spot where George Washington resigned. The Naval Academy museum was very interesting to our 3 year old Officer Pet Lion McColley. Brady REALLY loved screeching in the John Paul Jones crypt - it echoes beautifully.
Finally, Easter Sunday and the Easter Bunny arrived! Sadly, for me, it was the last day of my visit. We did go to church on base, after finding the Easter eggs. The TV picture shows the boys fixating on the "Imagination Movers" - their favorite Disney show.
Then, it was time to drive to WA DC to get to the airport. After I checked in, I asked the agent "Can I upgrade to First Class?" Surprisingly, he said "We actually have a few choices. Where would you like to sit?" Seat 1A! Yep, I was the first person served on the plane. Ahhh. What a way to travel!

It was a great trip and, as ever, loaded to the gills with fun things to see and do. Still, the best parts were the hugs, snuggles, tickles, walks, and talks...there will never be enough of those!
