Part 2: We Who Are Married

'twas our anniversary on 12/23 and we like to celebrate the day in style.
Warren made a call from the Warren Street bus stop (trust me, even though you can't see it).
We walked the West End and saw where they are fixin' up the joint before the Summer Olympics.
Just one of the many colorful reminders that "You're not in Kansas anymore."
Then, it was off to Harrods Department Store to gawk and gaze at the bountiful objects in the store.
With 3 grandsons who love police officers, you can imagine how tempting a 6 foot police bear was!
By the way, this is just one of the many diverse (and expensive) items Harrods has to offer a googly-eyed tourist. Time for a suave bolla lunch - inside Harrods! The Sea Grill option looked delicious.
For Devon, smoked salmon with a caviar garnish. M-m-good!
Back to Hazlitts, our hotel, before setting out to the theater to see Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
The show is quite crazy and this is the front of the theater.
Unfortunately, technical difficulties caused the management to close down the show shortly before the end of the first act. Sigh. Oh well. We did get to see a very crazy and fun 45 minutes of it.

After some confusion, we went to The Ivy (see Part 1) before our scheduled reservation and they were able to fit us in. Warren ordered a delicious rib steak, prepared to perfection. I ordered a yummy-sounding Lamb and Pearl Barley Soup. Hmm. Picture a dime, then imagine 4 cubes of lamb smaller than that. Hold out both hands and count your fingers. Subtract 4 and you'll have the number of pearl barleys in my soup. The amusing thing was that they made a big production of bringing out a bowl with the miniscule items afore mentioned and then ceremoniously poured a hot, watery broth over the top. Not exactly my idea of a hearty soup. It was so funny that I didn't even mind. Live and learn!
