Jumpin' Jehosaphat - July is Just Flyin' By!!

For Goodness Sake, Devon - Catch up! Okay, okay...
One big surprise early in July was that our Calla Lilies finally bloomed after 16 years of waiting...
On July 2nd our band, The North Cascade Concert Band, played two concerts.
The first was at Larrabee State Park at 1:30. It was hot, hot, hot!
The next one was at Birch Bay at 6:30, where it was not, not, not hot!
Here is the flute section:
And here is Warren! Isn't he adorable behind his tuba?
At least, I think it's Warren - all tuba players look the same to me - HA!
Then, off to an impromtu McColley Family Reunion at Aunt Pearlita's on July 3rd to see Uncle Roy, Aunt Lora, Marla and Richard who were visiting from Iowa!
We met new grandbabies and saw lots of family - nice!
It was a lot of fun to catch up with people we don't see as often as we'd like to!
The Cuzes - trying to replicate a photo taken in the '60's.
Hmmm - we've changed!
Then, the 4th of July rolled around. We spent the day with our good friends at Lake Cavanaugh.
Warren and Rob had to take a beereak after an afternoon of fishing. Quite a lovely day!
We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows before the big display.
The fabulous fireworks show lasted an hour and a half!!
It was OOH-AWESOME!
In the midst of all our other activities, Warren finished the upstairs guest bathroom!
It is SO cute. Arianna and Tim have given it a thumbs up approval rating!
Looking from the tub to the door:
We decided to frame the teacups in the nook.
It was harder than we expected, but like how it turned out.
My friend Nancy and I made plans to go to dinner together before school was out.
So, on July 8, we carpooled to our choice: a French restaurant in Seattle.
We ordered the Menu Degustation with Wine Pairing...expensive, but oo-la-la, delicious!!
I include the following photos to tempt you.
Jan, I hope you enjoy these ; - )
The main item is noted - there were too many other ingredients to mention!!
Course #1: Various Small Bites
Course #2:
No picture, because it just looked like milky soup...but, it was divine!
Course #3: Quail
Course #4: Salmon
Course #5: Wagyu Beef
Course #6: Desserts
Since my birthday is in July, the restaurant added a note to my dessert plate!
Yum - not too hungry; not too full; just right!

We are now preparing for a Texas adventure at the end of the month - should be a HOT time!
Hope you are enjoying your summer!
