Our first love: Our children!!
Here are the Maguire Boys with Grandma in front of Burghley House on Mum's Day.
We were lucky to have Brian able to join us on Sunday.
In the Garden of Surprises!
I was surprised to see what my lovely daughter was doing behind me (after we got home).
Taking a breather after running and running and running.
Grandma and Grandpa with McColley and Brady IN a sculpture in the Sculpture Garden.
Two mums with their kids - what a nice day!
On Monday, we went to Cadbury World - a chocolatey experience.
They've been making chocolate for quite some time.
On to Stratford-on-Avon and Anne Hathaway's cottage.
We never spotted Shakespeare's ghost or anything.
McColley gave us a few pointers on the beds of that time.
On Tuesday, we went to Cambridge.
What an amazing place!
Lots of history to absorb.
Here is my preggers daughter with her dad, trying to keep up with the running boys.
On Wednesday, we picked McColley up at his Montessori preschool.
And I met a man as I was going to St. Ives...
only he had a little boy instead of 7 wives!
We ate at a local restaurant and then fed the swans and ducks.
See Katharine's blog for more pix.
That night, we left Brian in charge of the boys and
took KC to dinner at the Old Bridge Hotel.
Isn't she cute?
Finally, on Thursday, we met Brian for lunch at the combined Club on base.
Here is the one shot I got of McColley and Brady sitting still.
Believe me, this is an almost unheard of event!
We had to leave after lunch.
Here we are saying goodbye to McColley...
He was our human alarm clock every morning and we miss that!
And Brady...
Our Mr. Busypants.
Our second love: London!
We spent the night in London - note the perfect weather!
That is St. Paul's Cathedral in the way back of this picture.
We had dinner at Rules - the oldest continually operating restaurant in London.
I, of course, had to celebrate the upcoming nuptials with a "Kate Middleton - Royal 29" drink.
It was pretty and yummy.
We had roast beef with huge Yorkshire Puddings.
A gastronomical joy!
Then to the West End and the Noel Coward Theater to see "Million Dollar Quartet".
A short stop at St. Paul's church - the theater district parish.
Lots of famous names on these walls.
And now we're home - missing our Maguires!
