Pineapple OOPSide Down Cake...

So, the day of book club at my house finally arrived!
Pineapple Upside Down Cake was on the menu.
I started making it at 5 a.m. and took it out to cool at about 6 a.m.
After the 10 minute cooling, I turned it out on the platter.
Imagine hot banana pudding flowing out all over the place...
Hmmm - I'm only sorry I didn't get a picture of it.
After laughing (and sighing) and putting it in the garbage, it was time to go to work for the day.
Never fear!
On the way to work, I had a brilliant idea!
Pineapple Upside Down Shortcakes!
They were easy to make and very cute with their paper umbrellas.
Along with lamb and asparagus, I made Dijon fingerling potatoes.
There were about 4 different varieties and all were yummy!
Forgetting to take a picture of the actual food dishes, here is a photo of the dirty dishes.
: - )
We all enjoyed our meal and then retired to the living room for a lively discussion.
Our book was Revenge of the Radioactive Lady by Elizabeth Stuckey-French.
It provided a lot of material to talk about.
The picture you see above is our dining room table before dinner.
It is my current office space.
We dismantled it, had the dinner and reassembled it after everyone went home.
Phew!
