We started out on Friday afternoon by enjoying a wonderful lunch at Stanford's. I was freezing, so had hot food. WB had a great lunch, which put him to sleep by the time we were out of the parking lot. I was done for by Fife, so he woke up and drove the rest of the way to the Paramount Hotel in Portland. After checking in, we walked up the block to have dinner at Bistro 921 at the Hilton. Then, we went to the Heathman, which had a fabulous chandelier + flower arrangement on display. The live band played music at a perfect volume for the cozy bar. It was so jazzy! It happened to be the jazz festival weekend in P'land.

This is the view from our window. Then, we drove past my old employer, The Portland Clinic. We also drove through Forest Grove and toured the Grand Lodge. It's an interesting place. From there, we drove to Longview to have dinner with our friends, Jan & Randy. You can see from the pictures (NOT!) what a great time we had and how fabulous the food was. Rats...I get so mad at myself when we leave without any photogs. I am not as responsible as Katharine when it comes to getting my life on film.

After leaving Portland on Sunday, we drove through Yacolt and past our old house on Dobler Hill Road. It looks like someone still loves it. Then, we headed for Olympia to spend the night with our friends John & Diane. Again, wonderful food and great conversation. Lots of pictures (NOT!)...when will I learn???
We met Ari & Tim to hear about their weekend and signed a check related to their totaled car. Believe me, they are happier in their new Nissan Rogue!
What a great weekend of food, fun, and friends!

The ultimate question:
Did the house on Dobler Hill have a mail box?
