We drove to Renton to watch Britt and Mark play with their band. As you can see, the weather was not exactly summerish. It turned out OK, though, as the rain waited until after the concert. Although I tried to load a video, it would not, so you cannot hear how wonderful they sounded!
You can see Britt in front of the bass fiddle.
Mark is right underneath the word July.
Here they are after the concert: Euphoniumist Mark and French Hornist Britt. We are very impressed at how they've recharged themselves as musicians after taking a reeeeeeaaaaaallllllly long break!
We joined Nephew David and Mom Marianne to enjoy the music. The statues behind us were dressed up for the holiday! Very cute.
We love David! What a fun guy - and very patient with his relatives! He's off to Pullman pretty soon to carry on the marching band tradition. Go Cougs!
After the concert, we went to the Wards for a BBQ. Mark skillfully created a scrumptious meal, starting with perfect cocktails and ending with angel food cake and fruit. Yum. Yum. Yum.
After our meal, we thought we would go enjoy the designated neighborhood fireworks 'guy' display, but it turned out that he was a no-show this year. So, David set off his own display! The neighborhood was quite active with fireworks, so we didn't miss out on a thing. It was a lot of fun and a very enjoyable 4th.
