Ouch! A November/December update.

Last night, on my way home from work, I was rear ended about 3 miles from home. I missed book club, as the accident happened about 10 minutes before it started. The most ironic thing about this situation is that I had just picked the Honda up from the shop at 2:00. It had just gotten its 180,000 checkup & the windshield wipers had FINALLY been fixed. Everything was in tip top shape, including the brakes. I'm tres desolate about my poor CR-V and a bit sore today.

This used to be where the back window resided. Now it is scattered all over the road. Hopefully, the CR-V can be restored.

Here's my backwards update of our lives since Halloween...

My school hosted an assembly on 12/1 with Deon Butler from the Seahawks, 2 SeaGals, & Tony V from TV.
They talked about taking care of your teeth. The kids loved it and it was lots of fun!
We went to the Apple Cup with friends - so, at least the food & the view were worth the effort. It was a sorry game with a sad ending, but the band sounded good! Go Cougs! Sigh.
Thanksgiving was really great - family, fun, and excellent food. We hosted the Hopkins, McColley, & Ward families. Arianna & Tim were in Dover celebrating the holiday with Katharine, Brian, McColley, & Brady . We missed our children, but, had fun video chatting with them in Delaware. We ushered in the holidays by watching Christmas in Connecticut, a wonderful Barbara Stanwyck movie! Congratulations to Katharine and Brian who celebrated 5 years of marriage on 11/27!
In November, Arianna was in Bremerton Community Theater's production of "Murder on the Nile". She didn't tell us she gets murdered in the play, so it was quite a surprise the first time we saw it. She was wonderful as Louise, the calculating French maid. The show was first rate! Mom (Marianne) knows quite a few of the actors from Paradise Theater in Gig Harbor. Devon, Warren, Grandma McColley, Aunt Pearlita, Grandma Hopkins, Aunt Berta, Uncle Mark, Aunt Britt, David, & Laura all got to see the play. Britt & Grandma McColley went twice. Devon attended three weekends with various family members, scoring a comp ticket the 3rd time. Tim went innumerable times. He's a great stage husband! We may be keeping BCT in business! It is truly a terrific asset to Bremerton. Look below for a picture of 'Louise' with her grandmas!
We celebrated a variety of birthdays this month - Mark - he can tell you ; - ), Tim - 25, & Laura - who's now 21!
The first most amazing event in November was watching our little nephew...I mean Senior nephew, David, (now, how the heck has this much time passed - he was just 2 about 3 weeks ago!!!)...play his last football game - in the POURING rain. It was fun to watch him play, but, have to admit that Uncle Warren & I were wimps and left at half time due to increasingly wet clothes under a very leaky poncho. We are impressed with his dedication and shocked that he'll soon graduate.
We are well into the Christmas season. To our children's GREAT dismay, we opted to go for fully artificial Christmas trees. We like them! Our concert season is upon us and we'll be playing &/or singing from December 4 through December 13. Between a visit from the Maguires, Brady's 1st birthday, our 31st anniversary, Christmas celebrations hither & yon, Katharine's birthday on 1/1, the Maguires' trip to Pasco & Disneyland, the Wells trip to Maui & then their adventure to Japan, and our tentative trip to Scottsdale AZ, it looks like it'll be one crazy holiday season!

Joy to the world and happy times to you all!

I hope your holiday season is safe and joyous (no more accidents). I am glad to hear you weren't too badly hurt. Take care of yourself and pass around the holiday cheer. In case we don't chat before the holiday's Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and have fun with everyone! Eli and Brayton's birthday parties are the same day and time, so we'll be missing that. Have a great one!
